Canadian students access to government funded internships

  •  You must currently be enrolled in a Canadian post-secondary institution
  • You must be a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident or person who holds a refugee status
  • You must be legally authorized to work in Canada


 STEPS TO TAKE 

  • Sign Up: Create a profile on Riipen.
  • Verify: Upload your "Proof of Enrolment" (get this from your school portal).
  • Apply: Browse the "Project Marketplace" and apply to jobs that match your skills.


SELECTED PROGRAMS

1. Level UP (National)

Best for: Most post-secondary students across Canada.

  1. Visit the Level UP Student Portal.
  2. Click "Apply Now" or "Sign up" to join the current cohort.
  3. Upload your Proof of Enrolment and verify your ID.
  4. Once verified, browse the marketplace and apply to a project.

2. Advance Ontario (Ontario Only)

Best for: Students specifically enrolled in Ontario post-secondary institutions.

  1. Visit the Advance Ontario Portal.
  2. Sign up and ensure your profile location is set to Ontario.
  3. Complete the registration and identity verification.
  4. Browse the Ontario-specific project marketplace.

3. Future Path (Regional/Specific Groups)

Best for: Students from participating schools or specific demographic groups (check the link for current availability).

  1. Visit the Future Path Portal.
  2. Create your account to see if your institution is currently a partner.
  3. Follow the on-screen prompts to verify your eligibility.
  4. Match with a project and begin your 60-hour experience.


STEPS TO TAKE:

  1. Sign up at Wavemakers.network
  2. Join a Cohort: Pick a start date that fits your school schedule.
  3. Complete the Lab: Attend weekly virtual sessions and complete a team project (~22 hours total).
  4. Get Certified: Receive a certificate and a chance to win a $1,000 scholarship.


Wavemakers does not pay learners for completing the program; however, it offers financial aid and a scholarship component. As for paid opportunities, they have an Ambassador Program, which includes paid opportunities for alumni who completed the Wavemakers program.

Our goal is to provide young Canadians with an-easy-to use platform to access curated, relevant, and hard-to-find opportunities.
