PATHFINDER: A YOUNG CANADIAN-FOCUSED JOB HUB

Most job platforms are not built for early-career users. Searching for entry-level, internship, and co-op roles is often time-consuming, frustrating, and demotivating, as opportunities are frequently mislabeled and scattered across multiple job boards and employer websites

Many young Canadians lack access to reliable career guidance and professional networks. Without family or industry connections, they face significant barriers to understanding current labour-market trends, navigating the job search, and securing early-career opportunities in an increasingly competitive environment.

Build a user-centric job platform designed specifically for Our first priority is students in post secondary studies and recent graduates within two years of degree completion, leveraging UX design and AI to ensure relevance, accessibility, and personalized guidance.  

Unlike general job boards, Pathfinder is built for and with young Canadians. We are developing the platform with University of Toronto Computer Science students, informed by insights from youth focus groups

Build a system that pulls and aggregates and promotes entry level or internship & coop positions in hidden markets at no cost to employers and candidates. Priority will be given to opportunities within small & medium sized companies, Non-Profits, and the government.  

Our mission is to make early-career opportunities visible and accessible while reducing hiring friction for partner organizations.

Publish a Career insights column featuring industry experts who share practical advice and guidance for young Canadians entering the workforce.

Generate analytics and reporting to measure social impact, inform public policy, strengthen cross-sector collaboration, and guide continuous improvements within CanWorks. 

Build strategic partnerships with job platforms, employers, and government agencies to broaden reach and ensure a rich pipeline of early-career opportunities.
